Rather than guessing, your dedicated Senior Advisor walks through your loved one’s full situation with you and helps you understand which level of care, from independent living to memory care, makes the most sense as a starting point. There is no cost and no pressure to decide before you’re ready.

Residential care homes, sometimes called board and care homes, are smaller licensed homes that offer personalized daily living support in an intimate, home-like setting, often with just a handful of residents. Larger assisted living communities offer the same type of care but on a bigger campus with more amenities, more staff, and more social programming. Some seniors thrive with the quiet, individualized attention of a residential home, while others prefer the activity and variety of a larger community. We help Columbus-area families compare both and find the right fit for their loved one’s personality and needs.

A Continuing Care Retirement Community, or CCRC, offers multiple levels of care on a single campus, typically independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing/rehab, and long-term care. CCRCs usually involve an upfront entrance fee, or “buy-in”, in addition to monthly costs. The contracts and financial structures vary widely from one community to the next. Whether a CCRC is the right fit depends a great deal on your loved one’s situation and the specific terms of the community. We help families across Central Ohio understand how CCRCs work.

We help with both. While much of our work is matching families to the right senior living community, we also connect Columbus-area families to trusted home care providers, adult day programs, and senior transportation services when staying at home is the right choice, or a helpful bridge before a community move. Through our local resource network, we can point you toward vetted support for daily living, companionship, supervision, and getting to appointments, so you always have options no matter where your loved one is in their journey.

Not at all, and in fact, reaching out early is one of the smartest things a family can do. When you plan ahead, you have time to tour thoughtfully, compare options, and make a calm, informed decision rather than scrambling during a hospital discharge or sudden health change. There is never any pressure or obligation. Many families simply start a conversation with us months or even years before a move, just so they understand their options when the time comes.

We’re compensated by our partner communities only when a family chooses to move into one, which means our recommendations are always based on what’s genuinely right for your loved one, never on who pays us.
